Dewey’s Read-a-thon

For those of you that don’t know, there was a wonderful woman named Dewey that was a huge staple in the book world.  She ran a site called The Hidden Side of the Leaf and hosted all sorts of things for book lovers.  Unfortunately, she passed away in 2008, leaving a void in the book community.

One of the things that she started was the Read-a-thon. It is a great event that urges readers to set aside a 24 hour period to read as much as they can.  There are cheerleaders, prizes, and just a sense of community that is to be rivaled.  Unfortunately I will be unable to participate this time around, but check it out if you get a chance and help encourage other participants.

Happy Saturday, and Happy reading!
