Bloggers - Meet Millions of Bloggers

Time for a Friday Meme

It’s been awhile since I have done a meme, but I have seen this one on a few blogs and thought I would participate as well.  Here goes nothing:

Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack:

I usually don’t snack when I am reading – if I did it wouldn’t have to be something that wouldn’t make my fingers dirty -couldn’t stand the thought of getting the pages dirty.

What is your favorite drink while reading?

Mate tea or Diet Dr. Pepper…just depends on my mood.

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?

I don’t think I have ever written or highlighted a book unless it was for school.

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?

I use bookmarks – anything from an actual bookmark, to a sticky note, to a random piece of paper.

Fiction, non-fiction, or both?

It’s rare that I read non-fiction.

Are you a person who tends to read to the end of a chapter, or can you stop anywhere?

I almost ALWAYS stop at the end of a chapter.

Are you the type of person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if the author irritates you?

That has never happened to me – I don’t let a book get to the point where it irritates me that bad.

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away?

No, usually I can figure it out with the surrounding text.

What are you currently reading?

Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein trilogy…and I’m loving it.

What is the last book you bought?

The Dean Koontz Frankenstein trilogy.

Are you the type of person that reads one book at a time, or can you read more than one?

I usually only read one book at a time, but lately have been reading two.  I keep one in my purse for when I am waiting for the kids.

Do you have a favorite time/place to read?

Relaxing in my chair.

Do you prefer series books or stand alones?

I normally don’t care, but have really started to enjoy series.

Is there a specific book or author you find yourself recommending over and over?

Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and J.R. Ward…just to name a few

How do you organize your books? (by genre, title, author’s last name, etc.)

By author’s last name…but with over 1500 books it gets hard.

What about you? If you decide to fill this out, leave a link here so I can see your answers.
