Barbara Vey’s Reader Appreciation

So, here I am at Barbara’s Reader Appreciation event, and let me tell you, this woman is a doll. Living in Wisconsin we don’t get a lot of events where reader’s can meet each other and have the honor of sitting with an author so thankfully she has taken the lead and started this wonderful event. I am so proud to be here for it’s first year, I know that this event is something that is going to still be going strong for many years to come.

The day started with a 10:30 meet and greet where we got to find the author’s table where we were going to sit. I was sitting at Lori Devoti’s table. What a nice woman and a fellow Wisconsinite. Got to meet a lot of fellow readers which is always so nice. I don’t have too many people that are around me on a regular basis who like to read as much as I do. This was a group of just that kind of person.

After the luncheon NY Times best selling author Heather Graham was the keynote speaker. Having never heard her speak what a pleasure it was to actually get to hear her. What a great sense of humor, but even better was getting to talk to her afterward. I will be featuring her on here in the very near future so watch for that.

I think the highlight of the conference for me was seeing Jade Lee. I met Jade at the Ninc conference in October and this lady I just love. I haven’t had a chance to talk with her so after a quick hug and promise of her firstborn we decided we better keep in touch.

This is certainly something I will be looking forward to for years to come and my hope isthat next year I can help Barbara make it even better!
