Today’s post for the Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2012 says this:
One of the best parts about book blogging is the exposure to books and authors you might never have heard of before. Pimp the book you think needs more recognition on this day. Get creative! Maybe share snippets from other bloggers who have reviewed it or make some fun art to get your message across.
This is an easy one for me. I read a lot of good books but there is one book that has stood out for me for many years and I am thankful to say that I had the pleasure of calling the author a friend. The book is:
I actually read this book when it was first published under the title “Bones of the Dead” and fell in love with it. The writing is superb, and the storyline is excellent as well. She took the book world by storm when she threw her own virtual book launch party to try and market “Bones of the Dead” – this after having it rejected many times. What happened is truly a fairytale, as she was offered a major book deal as a result.
Unfortunately, after a surgical error, she had trouble with an acute respiratory disease that she fought with for 2 years before it claimed her life. I am proud to say that I knew her, helped her promote her books, and still miss her every day. A true inspiration, not only for authors, but for humanity.

I can’t wait to read what some of you think is a book that needs to be talked about. If you haven’t read this one, I highly recommend it (as well as The Sandalwood Tree).

I read The Sandalwood Tree a short while before Elle died and it was a very upsetting piece of news, may she be in a better place. I’ll put this one on my list as I would love to read more of her work.
I have a copy of this in my TBR collection but have yet to read it. I am glad you enjoyed it so much. Makes me want to dig out my copy and read it right now.
Sounds like a great book! I’ll have to check it out
