Fifty Shades of Grey Book Review

When I see so much hype about a book, I should know better – I really should. But, I decided to read (or try to read) Fifty Shades of Grey.  I’m sorry to say, I couldn’t even finish it.

I am not sure what I was exactly expecting with this book.  A storyline? That would have been good.  Something besides erotic play and words like “Jeez” and phrases like “Holy Cow” used over and over would have been nice.  I hate to say it but it just isn’t written like I feel adults would react in a situation, virgin or not.

Was it awful? I can’t say that. I just couldn’t see myself trudging through the rest of the book at the pace it was going.  Maybe things get much better in the last quarter of the book, highly unlikely but I suppose possible.  I know that there are reviews loving it, reviews hating it, and reviews somewhere in between.  Having not finished, I don’t even want to rate it as I don’t feel this is fair, but it certainly didn’t grab my attention the way I had hoped.  Maybe you will enjoy it more than I did.
