About Nephilim

Tattoo artist Nathan Ink is more than he seems. An angel living in secret on earth, he forces his clients to face their flaws by tattooing images of their sins on their bodies, but this glimpse into the soul often results in his clients’ deaths. Although Nathan avoids the other angels, when they ask him to keep an eye on Faye, a nephilim being stalked by another of her kind, he reluctantly agrees.

The angels have kept Faye in the dark about her stalker, but to keep her close to Nathan, they’ve tasked her with investigating the high mortality rate of Nathan’s clients. Despite her distaste for his methods, she finds herself fighting a growing attraction to Nathan, and discovering he’s not a rogue after all forces her to question her own mission. When Faye learns her stalker is another nephilim who intends to use her to breed a new race of hellish beings, teaming up with Nathan may be the only way to prevent a genocide.

Book Excerpt:

Up ahead a homeless person stepped forward from the shadows. In his hand, the silver blade of a knife flashed under the streetlight. With a quick thrust, he stabbed a female passerby. The woman dropped to the ground, her hands instinctively coming up to shield herself.

“Call 911,” Faye shouted to a bystander. She grabbed the arm of the homeless man and shoved him against the wall. His hazel eyes moved back and forth frantically, and then for a brief second focused on hers. With a guttural cry, the homeless man kicked himself free and took off into the dark night.

Faye dropped to her knees and placed a hand on the woman’s forehead. Blood pooled around the body, but Faye saw she still breathed, though her eyes were wild with pain. She pressed her hand harder and the woman’s name popped into her head. Julie.

“Julie? Can you hear me? Blink if you hear me,” Faye instructed.

Julie blinked.

“Good. Hang on, honey. Help is on the way.”

Faye probed with her power, getting in Julie’s head. Flashes of her as a child.Julie at five with a gap-toothed smile.Julie in high school as the prom queen, brown feathered hair fluttering.Kissing her first serious boyfriend in college. Pissing off the homeless man who’d stabbed her. He’d asked for money and she’d blown him off.

“Further. Go further,” Faye murmured, feeling the beginning of the pain.

There. Faye’s mind probed past the images and into the warmth of the human body.

“Too late.” A deep sadness washed through her as she observed the fatal wounds that even now caused the lifeblood to drip away. “Julie, look at me. I know you’re scared, but I can help. I can make the cross easier.”

Panic fluttered in Julie’s dark eyes. She struggled to speak. “H…help…me…”

With as much power as she could muster, Faye focused on the wounds in the torso. All sounds muted and fell away as she delved into the ocean of pain Julie felt, and using her power, removed it. She gasped at the cold shock of taking it in, and watched the young woman give a small peaceful sigh as life slipped away. Closing her eyes, Faye whispered a quick crossover prayer, feeling the soul lift from the body.

Sirens screamed and pandemonium ruled the street. Someone grabbed her shoulder, pulling her back. Nausea built within Faye, and though her vision clouded, she managed to stand. The hand on her shoulder moved down to her elbow, and she blindly followed the person guiding her away from the chaos.

“Stop please,” she whispered. “I’m going to throw up.”

She bent over and vomited on the sidewalk. Clouds of black dust came from within her, dissipating as they hit the ground, leaving only a foul smell behind.

“Jesus, lady, what the hell did you eat?” A Goth kid leered down at her, his lip ring shimmering in the night.

“Move on,” a voice instructed the kid. The deep, rumbling tone carried the hint of a threat, and the Goth kid scurried on his way.

“Thanks for your help.” Faye wiped her mouth and looked up at her rescuer.

Two inky black eyes stuck in a harsh pale face stared down at her. Long, shiny black hair framed the face, falling to just below the man’s massive shoulders. Just above the collar of his dark T-shirt, a long black tattooed line appeared, running around to the back of his neck. She knew exactly who the man was.

Nathan Ink.

Terrell Dunnum is the founder of Total Freedom Ministries, Inc., an organization that provides mentoring and biblical counseling to youth and families in crisis.
At the age of 18, Terrell Dunnum’s mother died from an aneurism and a year later his father died from a coronary heart failure.
Terrell says,” it was not easy, but I had to let go of the past, and learn to trust God in ways that my intellectual mind could not understand.” Through prayer and fasting, Terrell began to witness the miraculous effects of forgiveness and faith. Terrell later received his master’s degree in Christian Counseling from the American Bible College and Seminary.

Terrell Dunnum now encourages others as a motivational speaker. He has a gift to touch the hearts and minds of individuals struggling with identity crisis and relational barriers. He has helped thousands of young men and women find true meaning and purpose in life.

About While There is Still Time

God always sends messengers to warn his people before a special event. He sent Noah before the flood. He sent angels before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. He send John the Baptist before the arrival of Jesus Christ.

In the same way God spoke to Noah and John the Baptist, he has spoken to Terrell Dunnum. Terrell had released the Lord’s messages into a book of poetry that will bring hope and healing to all who read it.
While There is Still Time is filled with poetry that is enjoyable both for its messages and its unique rhythms and rhymes. The poetry in While There is Still Time will touch all people, whether saved or unsaved. The lost will be drawn back to God, the weak in faith will be strengthened, and all readers will find encouragement and inspiration.

Robert Orfali, the guru of client/server systems in the early days of Silicon Valley, co-authored three best-selling books that demystified the complexity of these mission-critical systems and made them understandable to a whole new generation of programmers. The books sold over a million copies. In this book, Robert uses his analytical skills to deconstruct the most complex system he has yet encountered: our modern end-of-life system. He wrote this book after helping his soulmate and coauthor, Jeri, navigate her death from ovarian cancer in 2009. The deep emotions Robert felt allowed him to look at how we die from a different perspective, another angle. Robert also wrote Grieving a Soulmate.

About Death with Dignity

In Death with Dignity, Orfali makes a compelling case for legalized physician-assisted dying. Using the latest data from Oregon and the Netherlands, he puts a fresh new slant on perennial debate topics such as “slippery slopes,” “the integrity of medicine,” and “sanctity of life.” His engaging writing style brings clarity to these issues. The content is thought-provoking; the arguments are well-researched, air-tight, and original.
This extraordinary book provides an in-depth look at how we die in America today. It examines the shortcomings of our end-of-life system. You’ll learn about terminal torture in hospital ICUs and about the alternatives: hospice and palliative care. With laser-sharp focus, Orfali scrutinizes the good, the bad, and the ugly. He provides an insightful critique of the practice of palliative sedation. The book makes a strong case that assisted dying complements hospice. By providing both, Oregon now has the best palliative-care system in America. Reading this book, above all, may help you or someone you care about navigate this strange landscape we call “end of life.” It can be your gentle and informed guide to “a good death” in the age of hospice and high-tech medical intervention.

IN COLONIAL INDIA, at a time of growing friction between the ruling British and the restless Indian populace, a Victorian woman and her young Tamil Indian servant defy convention, class, and heartbreak to investigate what is gained – and lost – by holding life still. Suggested by the life and work of photographic pioneer Julia Margaret Cameron, The Luminist filters 19th century Ceylon through the lens of an English woman, Catherine Colebrook and a 15 year old Tamil boy, Eligius Shourie. Left fatherless by soldiers, Eligius is brought as a servant to the Colebrooks’ neglected estate. In the shadow of Catherine’s obsession to arrest beauty – to select a moment from the thousands comprising her life in Ceylon and hold it apart from mere memory – Eligius transforms into her apprentice in the creation of the first haunting photographs in history.

About Just a Few Seconds – Book Description

Just A Few Seconds is a story of one man’s experience in the music business. It is an amusing and true story of a successful freelance musician whose gigs ranged from private parties to the very rich and famous to the roughest London pubs where playing the wrong song at the wrong time meant the difference between life and death. He takes more twists, turns and knocks than a mouse trapped in a pinball machine but the ending shows how the road to success can lead us down the strangest and most desolate of paths. If you are looking for the usual rock star memoirs full of sex drugs and rock and roll then this book is not for you, but if you are interested in a unique insight into the music business that reads like a thriller then this book won’t disappoint.

I grew up telling spooky little campfire style stories at slumber parties. We’d make a tent in the bedroom, and the only source of light would be from a flashlight that was about to die. I’d tell my tale of doom and then while everyone was jumping at the tree branch scraping against the window and I’d be sound asleep!

I served my country in the United States Navy working as a boiler technician on board the USS McKee AS-41 assigned to the 7th fleet.

While deployed at various ports-of-call throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East I began to learn about other cultures’ monsters and nightmares and I use my world travels and experiences take you to some of the exotic places that I’ve been but have altered and embellished with my twisted view of how a story should end…while at the same time taking you on a journey you might not otherwise be able to afford or brave enough to undertake.

My current projects, “…And They All Lived Happily Ever After” and “Artificial Light,” the sequel to The Darkness will be released in 2011. My short story “The Ruins” was the runner-up selection of Crypticon Seattle’s 2010 writing contest, and accepted for publication for The Static Movement Anthology “Sowing the Seeds of Horror.” My short story “The Monster” will be featured in the anthology “Strange Tales of Horror” published by NorGus Press.

Artemisia, a scientist who also practices alchemy, is wealthy beyond imagination. She is one of the founding members of the Skyward Group, a privately funded, secret, research facility conducting experiments that erase what tradition has established as the boundaries separating the realm of man from the realm of God. Artemisia has everything she wants – money, fame, knowledge and power – except for a child. Inanna is a powerful and dangerous witch, also wealthy beyond imagination. Her powers are greater and more deadly than any in the long tradition before her. Inanna has everything she wants – money, knowledge and God-like power – except for a child. The Child has nothing. At three months of age, he knows only what he has experienced through the bars of his locked cage. He has nothing. He doesn’t have a mommy. He doesn’t have a daddy. He doesn’t have a name. The scientists who created him do not handle him, because they know The Child is dangerous.

In The Darkness, Two women clash in a vicious battle that has been fought since the days of King Solomon – the fight over a child. One woman unleashes the nightmarish arsenal of modern science while the other dispatches the weaponries of witchcraft. And as The Child grows up, his love for one and resentment for the other will change the fate of both these women, forever.
