About the Book

It’s Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Peep, Jack Be Nimble, Miss Muffet, Little Boy Blue, and more, like you’ve never seen them before! Renowned artist J.otto Seibold re-nursuries and re-rhymes over the Mother Goose classics in this must-have collection. Featuring recurring characters and an ending that brings everyone back for a showstopping finale, this book is the most fun dear old Mother Goose has ever had!

My Review

Being the mom of two little girls (ages 5 and 6) I always look for books that I think they will enjoy reading. When I saw “Other Goose: Re-Nurseried! and Re-Rhymed!” I thought that it would be great. Seeing as how they already know the original Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes these would be fun to read together.

My girls really got a kick out of the way that the author parodied the original stories. I have to admit that although the rhyming did reach at times it was ok because the way the author wove the stories made up for it. And, the illustrations are absolutely fabulous!
If you are looking for a new take on an old favorite, I would highly recommend “Other Goose” – it is sure to bring a smile to your face!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Carol Zelaya is a former nurse, recently widowed, and mother of two grown children. She grew up in the Chicago area, where she eventually met and married her husband and where they raised a family. Having relocated to Oregon in 1996, Zelaya began her love affair with nature and its beautiful creatures. Inspired by her surroundings, she started taking pictures and writing. Writing poetry led to writing three children’s books, of course, in rhyme. Zelaya’s Emily the Chickadee books are the true story of the special bond between a tiny bird and a little girl and the true meaning of family.

Carol is now moving to the San Diego area to be near her children. You can visit her online at http://www.emilythechickadee.com/.
